Cookie notice

This notice explains what gets stored in your browser when you visit OriginWay, what each thing is for, how long it lasts and how to change your choice whenever you want.

The important part first: nothing is stored until you decide. The tool we use to measure how the site is used is not downloaded and not switched on before you tap Accept.

What gets stored in your browser

A cookie is a small piece of data that the site leaves in your browser and reads again later. It is there to remember something from one page to the next: in our case, whether you accepted or declined being measured.

OriginWay uses two kinds of cookies, and the difference between them is the whole point of this notice: one is needed for the site to behave the way you expect, and the other does not exist until you enable it.

The ones the site needs

There are three: the one that stores your own choice, and two that only show up if you create an account and sign in.

  Remembers whether you accepted or declined measurement, so you are not asked again on every page

• __Secure-better-auth.session_token7 days

  Keeps you signed in from one page to the next. Without it you would have to type your password on every screen. It only exists if you have an account and signed in. Over an unencrypted connection it shows up as better-auth.session_token, without the prefix

• cuenta_abierta7 days

  Tells the page, without asking the server, that this browser has a session open, so the menu at the top takes you to your account instead of inviting you to sign in. It stores a 1 and nothing else: it does not say who you are

Both account cookies are cleared when you sign out. The second one grants access to nothing: if it went stale, the menu would take you to your account and the site would ask you to sign in again, which is exactly what should happen.

These cookies are written without asking you first because they are precisely what records your permission and what keeps the session you asked for when signing in. As for the measurement choice: without it we would have to ask again on every visit, and an answer that is stored nowhere is not a choice. It is ours, nobody else reads it, and it does not say who you are or follow you across other sites: it stores a single word, concedido or rechazado.

If your browser blocks cookies, your choice still holds for as long as you stay on the page without reloading, and the notice comes back after that. There is no way around it: with nowhere to store it, there is no memory.

The ones that depend on your permission

We measure how the site is used so we know what works and what does not. The tool is called PostHog, the data lives on servers in the European Union, and not one of its files reaches your browser until you accept. If you decline without ever having accepted, the site works exactly the same, with every feature, and nothing of the tool is stored.

• The ones starting with ph_Up to 12 months

  A random identifier for the browser, along with the visit number and the page you came in through, so we can tell whether two visits come from the same person and count how many people use each part of the site

• _fbp, frUp to 90 days

  Meta advertising campaign measurement. Only if you accept.

• _ttp, _tt_enable_cookieUp to 13 months

  TikTok advertising campaign measurement. Only if you accept.

That identifier is a random number: it does not carry your name or your email. Until you create an account, as far as our measurement is concerned you are a browser and nothing more.

The tool also stores the same information in the browser's local storage, which is another place a site can leave data and which does not expire on its own. And if you accept and later switch to declining, it records there that you said no, precisely so you are not measured again. Both are cleared together from your browser settings.

On some pages of the subscription flow, measurement can record how people navigate, to see where they get stuck. Never on the pages where you enter your date, time and place of birth, and whatever you type into a field is masked in every case.

What we do not do

There is no advertising on OriginWay, so there are no cookies to profile you or to show you ads somewhere else later. We do not embed social network buttons that follow you. We do not sell or hand your data to anyone.

How long your choice lasts

12 months. Once that time is up, the notice comes back and you choose again, because permission given years ago is not informed permission.

How to change your choice

At the bottom of any page you will find Change my cookie choice. Tap it, the notice opens again and you choose again: changing your mind has to cost the same as accepting, not more.

If you decline after having accepted, we stop measuring right away. You can also delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings, and that clears everything, including your stored choice.
